Restoring Your Soul - Living a Limitless Lifeනියැදිය

Resist the Temptation to Isolate
One of the enemy’s most effective strategies is to try to isolate us, even though we were created for relationship and connection, not only with Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but also with the people around us.
For some, growing up in a disconnected or abusive environment taught the painful lesson that the only person you could rely on was yourself. For others, maybe you have been willing to trust, only to be met with betrayal and hurt. Both experiences can create woundedness, leading to fear of vulnerability, difficulty trusting others, and a tendency to withdraw in an attempt to stay emotionally safe.
If this has been your experience, asking for wisdom, support, or help from others may feel unnatural or even impossible for you when challenges arise. However, Scripture makes it clear that there are times when we may need to seek the counsel of others.
Proverbs 12:15: "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.”
Proverbs 15:22: “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed”
Proverbs 19:20: "Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.”
Submitting to God’s plan for relationship and community sometimes requires us to set aside pride and embrace what is best for us, reaching out and asking for help from Him and others.
I Invite You to Ask Yourself:
- In what ways have past experiences of hurt, betrayal, or disconnection influenced how easily (or how difficult) it is for me to trust others?
- When facing challenges, do I tend to isolate and rely only on myself, or am I willing to seek counsel and support from others?
- What step of humility could I take this week to reach out for help, wisdom, or prayer from someone I trust?
I Invite You to Pray:
Lord, forgive me for my tendency to isolate and withdraw from others. Shine your Light on the area of my mind or emotions that needs Your revelation to help me know the root of my need to self-protect. I want to partner with You to live as you intended for me to live, in healthy relationships and community. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
