This is a good reminder that God’s Word is everlasting, unchanging, and trustworthy. It was the same thousands of years ago, it is the same today, and will remain the same for all of time. God and His Word surpass time as we know it. That means that when we open the Bible, read it, and hold it in our hearts, we are committing our lives to something that will last forever. That makes reading, studying, and reflecting on the Bible extremely important and extremely wise when it comes to how you spend your time.

Our faith is shaped by what we focus our time and attention on. If we center our lives on things that change, we will be in a constant search for stability and safety. But when we realign our lives with God and His eternal Word, we root ourselves in something we can rely on, find strength in, and gain guidance from year after year.

Challenge yourself to spend your time on what matters forever, not what’s going to pass away next week, next month, or next year. God’s Words are eternal. Hide them in your heart. Study them. Memorize them. Know God through His timeless and perfect Word.
