Day 5: Ablaze With Worship

If we want to keep our spiritual flame ablaze for God, the next fuel we need to be regularly adding is the fuel of worship.

When an individual or a congregation worships, it opens a channel through which the presence of God can enter into the atmosphere, and when the presence of God comes, anything can be changed. Mindsets can be shifted. Revelation can be unlocked. Deliverance and healing can come. Things change when God’s presence permeates the scene!

In the New Testament, “worship” is translated from the Greek word that describes one who falls prostrate on his face before a superior in order to worship, but another definition of “worship” from the Greek is to use all available methods to adore or to lovingly blow kisses toward the object of one’s worship.

When you are worshiping God, you are experiencing a very intimate moment in which you’re focusing solely upon Him. You are drawing near to Him in adoration, adulation, and complete submission, awe, and abandon. In that moment, your worship becomes a conduit for His life-changing presence. When we sacrifice ourselves, putting our hearts in focused concentration on Him, God says, “I want to be a part of that.” His presence comes and inhabits or hovers over a person or congregation that is in true worship of the Almighty.

Worship is a spiritual fuel that every believer needs in his or her life so he or she can be ablaze for God for years and years to come. Worship is something you can do from your heart, in your home, car, anywhere, because you are a walking sanctuary. You can do it alone, but you also need times where you join with other believers in worship, where you as a congregation experience a special presence of God together, and He literally enters the atmosphere with His presence and begins to change everyone there.

If you feel that your fire is burning low, throw another log on the fire or stir up those dwindling embers with worship to God right now. His presence will come and ignite a new flame in your heart so that you can continue to burn brightly for Him as you run your spiritual race on earth.

For Your Consideration:

• Practice reading the Psalms out loud to yourself and write down what you learn or experience from Him.
• Recall things that you have seen in your life that made you just want to worship. Were these things miraculous, powerful, or simply beautiful? God can appear anywhere, and worship is our natural response.
