Unboxed: Changed Foreverනියැදිය

The longer you live, the more you’ll realize that you have very little control over your life. And, the longer you live with Jesus, the more you’ll begin to see that it is ok because of how much he is taking care of you.

But what about when you feel proud of a good game or a job well done? It can feel so good to tell people about the things that you’ve accomplished. And it’s ok to be excited about those things! Paul explains in 2 Corinthians that, as a follower of Jesus, your “boasts” are in him. Because Jesus died for you, your life is entirely his. He gets all the credit. The only one you are trying to reflect and glorify is Jesus Christ. So, from now on, instead of thinking, “Look what I’ve done,” you can think, “Look at what Jesus did through me.” This also frees you from comparison. It doesn’t matter how you measure up to the expectations of friends, social media influencers, or anyone else because it is only Christ that you are living for.

Reflection Questions:

• It can sound odd to “boast” in Jesus, like 2 Corinthians 10:17 commands. What are you proud of? How can you see Jesus behind that and be grateful?
• To Paul, in this passage, the highest honor is for God to be proud of him. How can you be someone who reflects God no matter the circumstances?
