Each to Their Own Way

Without the unifying force of a strong leader, each will go to their own way, doing what they want to do. This was true in the days of the Israelites after the time of the judges, and this still rings true of humanity today.

Thankfully, we have a King in Jesus Christ. He is the Son of the Father of all things, Emmanuel, our redeemer. Under his leadership, we are unified in his love and liberated by his mercy-kindness. We are instructed with his wisdom and given direction in his fellowship. Instead of each going to our own way, let’s yield our lives to the King of kings. The worthy one can be trusted with our hearts and lives. Let’s crown him in our lives and let him rule as King of our hearts.

King of kings, I yield my life to you, and my heart is yours in surrender. I trust your leadership more than any other. I know that you are the way, the truth, and the life, and I give my life’s leadership to you. Guide me with your gracious wisdom.
