Yahweh empowered Joshua and his army to chase them. Yahweh hurled large hailstones on them from the sky. More men died from Yahweh’s hailstones than by the swords of the Israelites. God gives us fresh courage to face our challenges. He empowers us by the strength of his Spirit and gives us supernatural energy, vision, and victory. The Lord himself fights for us and with us. He clears a path, and he overpowers the tactics of the enemy.

The unparalleled power of Jesus goes with us into our trials and troubles. He moves in awe-inspiring ways. May we take courage in his help. He is greater than any force that opposes us. Jesus overcame the grave, so nothing can hold him. Death could not keep him, and certainly nothing that we face intimidates him. Let’s look to Jesus, our warrior king, who goes with us into our battles and who conquers every foe.

King Jesus, I depend on your divine help to fight for me. I am going where you lead me, so don’t hold back your aid. You are my courage, my strength, and the very hope of my life.
