“The Will of God” In everything gives thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) Trying to understand the will of God can be very mind-boggling. But, when you accept the will of God, you are acknowledging who He is- and that there is no one like Him. But, I have to admit that accepting His will is much easier than understanding it. When my mother went home to be with God, I accepted His will because I honor Him, trust His plans, and love Him. Understanding why He chose to take my mom at such a young age was a struggle at such a critical time in my life; not questioning Him and speaking my mind in a state of misunderstanding was my goal. You won't be able to understand every single thing God does; you won't be able to make sense of a lot of what transpires around you. That's okay! You don't have to. All you have to concern yourself with is being able to offer up thanks no matter the circumstances. That's God's will for you! Don’t aim to understand; strive to be thankful. Through thankfulness, God will give you the grace to understand and accept His will when you’re ready to. Meditation: Jeremiah 29:11 Prayer: Lord, I pray that you help me to understand Your will. I know that Your choice is what's best for my life, so my prayer is that I not only accept it, but I understand it, primarily when your will consists of something that may be uncomfortable. I trust you with my life, my understanding, and my heart. I love you, God. Amen
