Real Hope: Finding Hope in Isaiahනියැදිය

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait
The distinguishing quality of the Lord our God is that He helps, saves, and acts on behalf of the one ‘who waits for Him.’ Waiting for the Lord means waiting with hope or expectation. Isaiah was asking the people to see beyond their present circumstances-the exile, to a future blessed by the hand of the Lord-the restoration of Israel.
Spending time with the Lord and waiting upon Him may seem like a passive activity, but it sets God in motion. When we spend time in His presence just ‘be’-ing with Him, an exchange takes place between our limited human strength and the unlimited strength of God Himself. Christianity is not a philosophy; it is a relationship. The Bible is filled with the theme that we as believers were made for a relationship that allows us to know by experiencing the loving God who created us. When we create a space to wait upon the Lord, we create a ripple effect! To behold Him and remain unchanged is impossible.
So, we don’t simply pray to get. We come to the Lord to know Him, lean on Him, learn from Him, behold Him, and ultimately bathe in His love. It’s here that faith is born as we start to trust in the character of the One we profess to believe.
Yes, good things do come to those who wait!
