Immeasurably More

DAY 5 OF 5

## Immeasurably More... Faithful Have you ever made a promise that you ended up not keeping? Maybe you set a new year's resolution that you'd go jogging twice a week, or you told yourself that you'd only watch one episode of that TV show today. But before you know it, it's raining outside and you can't bring yourself to leave your warm bed, and Netflix has auto-played yet another episode. Oops- what can you do? See, the great thing about God is that when He makes a promise, come sunshine or rain, He keeps it! God can't help but be faithful- it'd be going against who He is if He wasn't. Just look at the extent that God went to keep His promises to Joseph in the Old Testament. God showed 17-year-old Joseph two dreams pointing to a promising future for him. Despite all of the tragic events that happened in Joseph’s life, like being sold into slavery by his brothers and being falsely accused and betrayed time and time again, God stayed faithful to His promises to him. Throughout all of these painful situations, the Bible tells us that God's favor was with Joseph and eventually, God's promises came true! Joseph became the right-hand man of the Pharaoh and God’s divine timing meant that Joseph was able to save his whole family and the whole land from famine. Just like Joseph, we are called to be faithful to God like He is faithful to us, even in seemingly hopeless situations. That might not always be easy, and though we may mess up sometimes, God will always remain faithful. His faithfulness means that He is loyal, trustworthy, and unwavering regardless of the situation. His promises to us never fail, they’re written all throughout The Bible and they still stand to this day! As you read the bible verses, remind yourself of the unwavering truth of God’s faithfulness today. QUESTIONS: Q: Think of some areas in your life where you can see God's faithfulness. Q: What's one area in your life where you could be more faithful to God? Prayer: God, thank you that you are faithful and you keep every single one of your promises to us. Though it can be hard to trust your timing, we know that your ways are so much better than our own. Lord, give us the strength, patience, and faith during periods of waiting in Jesus’ Name.
