Advent invites us to journey through the darkness to discover the light, the incarnate Word of God who "shines in the darkness" (John 1:5). This plan focuses upon the weekly themes of Advent—hope, peace, joy, and love—and serves as a guide through each week of the season. God pays close attention to the heart, yours and mine. In fact, the heart determines most things spiritually. Your heart can qualify or disqualify you before God. This is why God instructs that, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Your heart is your greatest asset and you have to pay close attention to what flows in and out of it.

What does a life of servanthood look like? Scripture identifies five prominent traits—humility, obedience, sacrifice, trust, and devotion—found in biblical leaders who exemplified faithful servanthood. This devotional plan examines the lives of Old and New Testament characters whom God identified as his servants. Be encouraged by their lives as you pursue servanthood and seek to serve God and others in your life.

Christians are different. They can’t help it. When you’re in Christ and filled with the Spirit, it changes you. This leads to weird ideas and alternate beliefs about reality. This series of 5-day plans uses classic Christian Creeds as a vehicle to explain the Christian worldview compared to the world’s, and help us see reality through Jesus’s eyes.
