Do your past decisions sometimes feel like a shadow you cannot escape? A life you can’t break free from? Many of us would say that at times, we’ve believed our past decisions define us. 

But the good news is that with Jesus, that’s not the case. What’s old can become new. That means the things in our past—the things that have hurt us or others—don’t have to define us anymore. We are new because of Him! Is there something in your past that you’re holding onto? 

This week, ask God to help you take steps to believing you’re new. Then, memorize this verse as a reminder of who you are in Christ.
