S-a stârnit o mare furtună de vânt, care arunca valurile în corabie, așa că mai că se umplea corabia. Și El dormea la cârmă, pe căpătâi. Ucenicii L-au deșteptat și I-au zis: „Învățătorule, nu-Ți pasă că pierim?” El S-a sculat, a certat vântul și a zis mării: „Taci! Fără gură!” Vântul a stat și s-a făcut o liniște mare. Apoi le-a zis: „Pentru ce sunteți așa de fricoși? Tot n-aveți credință?”
