Deci, fraților, noi nu mai avem nicio datorie față de natura umană păcătoasă; și astfel, nu mai suntem obligați să trăim conform specificului ei. Dacă (totuși) trăiți (chiar și acum) conformându-vă acesteia, veți muri! Dar dacă în acord cu natura Spiritului, faceți să moară manifestările naturii umane păcătoase, veți trăi. Toți cei care își trăiesc viața fiind ghidați de Spiritul lui Dumnezeu, sunt fii ai Săi. De fapt, Spiritul pe care l-ați primit, nu vă face din nou sclavi ai fricii; ci El este Spiritul înfierii, care ne determină să strigăm „Abba!”, adică „Tată!”. Și chiar Spiritul (Sfânt) confirmă convingerea spiritului nostru conform căreia suntem copii ai lui Dumnezeu. Iar dacă suntem copii, avem și statutul de moștenitori ai lui Dumnezeu. Vom fi moștenitori ai Săi împreună cu Cristos, dacă suferim împreună cu El, ca să fim și glorificați împreună cu El. Eu consider că toate adversitățile pe care le suportăm aici, nu sunt demne să fie echivalate cu gloria viitoare care ne va fi revelată. Chiar și creația așteaptă cu nerăbdare revelarea fiilor lui Dumnezeu. Ea a fost obligată să devină efemeră din cauza celui care a subordonat-o. Totuși, ea are o speranță. Această speranță se referă la eliberarea creației din sclavia degradării, atunci când va veni libertatea glorioasă a copiilor lui Dumnezeu.
