Altfel, după ce i-a pus temelia, constatând că nu poate finaliza construirea lui, cei care îl vor vedea, îl vor ridiculiza, zicând: «Acest om nu a fost capabil să termine ce a început (să construiască)!» Sau care rege, atunci când se duce să lupte contra altuia, nu se consultă mai întâi – să se convingă dacă va putea să meargă (la luptă) cu zece mii de oameni împotriva celui care vine să lupte având douăzeci de mii? Dacă va constata că nu are șanse să învingă, renunță la luptă; și în timp ce este departe de celălalt (rege), își trimite reprezentanții, propunându-i pacea.
