A Place to Be Born

DIA 6 DE 10

### WONDERFUL “Because a child was already born, God sent us a boy who will be our king. He will be called "Wonderful Counselor", "Mighty God", "Eternal Father", "Prince of Peace". He will be descended from King David; his power as king will grow, and there will be peace throughout his kingdom. The foundations of your government will be justice and law, from the beginning and forever. In His great love, the Lord Almighty will make all this happen.” (Isaiah 9.6,7) Even before he was born, Jesus was described with several "names". In Isaiah 7:14, the prophet announced that his name would be Immanuel, a fait accompli and explained by the angel who visited Joseph in order to reassure him: “While Joseph was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said: — Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary as your wife, for she is pregnant by the Holy Spirit. She will have a boy, and you will name him Jesus, for he will save your people from their sins. All this happened to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will become pregnant and have a son who will receive the name of Immanuel." (Immanuel means "God is with us".)" (Matthew 1.20- 23). To Mary, the angel revealed the boy's human name: “Then the angel continued: — Don't be afraid, Mary! God is pleased with you. You will become pregnant, give birth to a son, and call him Jesus” (Luke 1:30,31). The name “Jesus” also has a great meaning, as it means “The Lord saves”. All these names are, in fact, titles of power and authority, in addition to signifying the mercy of God who insisted on being with us and saving us. All these titles reveal to us the glorious nature of the baby born in that stable. He is wonderful, Strong, Eternal… His names reflect an image very different from the one we see widespread at Christmas, that of a fragile baby. The image of the wounded man hanging on the cross does not correspond to His reality either. On the contrary, becoming a baby and accepting to die on the cross confirmed his divinity and authority. This is what the angel tried to explain to Mary when he said: “He will be a great man and will be called the Son of the Most High God. God, the Lord, will make him king, as was his forefather, King David. He will forever be king of Jacob's descendants, and his Kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1.32) See this. His Kingdom will never end! YOUR KINGDOM WILL HAVE NO END! Jesus is the King of all that exists. All things are under your authority and your power. Don't be fooled by that image of the little baby lying in the manger. As on the cross, He is no longer there! This Christmas, point out who Jesus is, not just what He was. Tell people about his works while he walked the earth. Talk about his death and resurrection and, above all, show them what all this has brought to the life of humanity. Jesus is more than a historical element. He is the Wonderful King!
