### ONE GOD, ONE LORD “And, recognized as a human figure, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, and death on a cross. For this reason also God exalted him exceedingly and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee may bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God the Father.”  (Philippians 2:7-11) We are nearing the end of our journey in this Reading Plan and we could not end it any other way than by exalting Jesus for being born in our midst. The unselfish love for Him marked humanity in such a way that history itself was divided between before and after Him. For most Jews, the idea of ​​receiving Jesus as God is very difficult, as they believe it would be an act of idolatry to worship “another God” besides Jehovah. However, the Bible gives us full conviction of the oneness between the Father and the Son, as Christ himself assured us: "I and the Father are one." (John 10:30) They are one in essence, and continue to be one in fulfilling Jesus' mission in the world, even though, to do so, Jesus had to empty himself of his Glory to become one of us. All of this was planned and carried out by both of them:  “—The Father loves me because I give my life to receive him again. No one takes my life from me, but I give it of my own free will. I have the right to give it and receive it again, for that is what my Father told me to do.” (John 10:17-18) Today, Jesus is no longer the boy in the manger or the man on the cross. He is the King of Glory, and before Him all human and ethereal authorities are subdued. It pleased the Father to be glorified through his son, so we need not fear to adore and exalt Jesus, for in doing so, we adore the Father: “—Now the divine nature of the Son of Man is revealed, and through him also the glorious nature of God is revealed. And if through him the glorious nature of God is revealed, then God will reveal in himself the divine nature of the Son of Man. And God will do it right now.” (John 13:31,32) When you are gathered with your friends and family for the various Christmas and New Year festivities, don't miss the opportunity to recognize the Glory of Jesus. Talk about his coming, ministry and sacrifice and, mainly, talk about the saving and sanctifying work that Christ started in your life and continues to do through the Holy Spirit. One day, all these people will stand before God, and the future of their souls will depend on their decision to receive Christ as Savior and Lord and confess that Jesus is the Son of God. Do this in the authority Christ has given you, and pray that the seed sown in your hearts will find fertile ground and bear fruit. This is the Christmas party that Jesus is waiting for us!
