Release, Rest, Remainਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 4
REST IN ACTION
When Jesus invites us to rest in Him by saying, “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, NIV), does He mean that we should just stop everything and rest? Do we wait for life to figure itself out while we sit still? That can’t be what Jesus meant.
Rest is not about inactivity. It’s about security. It’s about resting in the confidence that what you’ve let go of is being held by Someone far more capable. And if we’re honest, that’s the part we struggle with the most. Because resting requires trust.
Rest is not passive; it’s a practice. It’s a heart posture of believing God is who He says He is. As we release, we rest. As we rest, we release. And as we do, we begin to experience the kind of peace that only comes from remaining in Him.
Rest means choosing to believe God’s love is enough—enough to cover our failures, enough to sustain us in our weariness, enough to hold us even when we don’t feel worthy of being held.
Jesus didn’t walk this earth proving His worth. He moved with confidence in the Father’s love. He healed without hesitation, served without striving, and gave of Himself without fearing that He’d run empty.
We see this love in action when He touched the untouchable—the leper whose skin made him an outcast. Instead of recoiling in fear, Jesus reached out, breaking the barrier that had kept the man isolated for so long (Matthew 8:2-3).
We see it when He stopped to acknowledge the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, even though an entire crowd was pressing against Him. He could have let her receive her healing and disappear, but instead, He turned to her, calling her His daughter (Mark 5:25–34).
We see it in the ultimate act of love: when He laid down His life on the cross. A love that bore the weight of our sin so we wouldn’t have to. A love that freed us so we could walk in peace, knowing we are fully known and still fully loved.
This is the love He invites us to rest in.
When you think about rest, what thoughts or emotions arise? Does the idea of resting in God feel freeing, difficult, or even impossible? Why do you think that is?

About this Plan

If you feel burdened and weary this week, receive this invitation to slow down and be with Jesus, who doesn’t demand more of you but in¬stead asks you to lay things down. Who calls you not to passivity but to actively rest in who He says He is. And to remain there, today, because He who calls you is faithful.
