Even though you should be a mentor to new Christians, you should still have a mentor who is wiser than you are spiritually.
As Christians, we should never think that we "have arrived". Our spiritual growth is a continuous journey. We are encouraged to never stop learning. We need to actively try to improve ourselves spiritually. In Philippians 1:6, the Bible says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Spiritual maturity is a lifelong pursuit, and God is our Potter; we are His clay. We need to be willing to learn from our spiritual mentor regardless of how long we have been a Christian.
