Back to the Basics 365

DAY 358 OF 365

Who can you mentor and encourage in their Christian faith?

Paul reminded Timothy of a special message he presented at Timothy’s ordination service. Those special messages are simply the doctrines, precepts, or the teachings of Jesus Christ from the Scriptures. God gave Christians the command to disciple new believers. In Proverbs 27:17, the Scriptures say “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” This phrase, “Iron sharpeneth iron,” is an essential part of our work as Christians to pour into others what God has taught us. The teachings and knowledge we have learned is important to pass on to others who can, in turn, teach others. It highlights the concept of mentorship and the responsibility of believers to ensure that the teachings of faith are preserved and shared within the realm of the church.

Are you actively mentoring new Christians in your church?
