Shifts: When God Disrupts Your Plans to Fulfill His Purpose (7-Day Bible Plan)ਨਮੂਨਾ

Resist the Wrong Shift
Every shift in life is not from God. Some shifts are traps disguised as blessings, wrapped in opportunity, or coated in comfort. They look good, sound right, and feel convenient, but deep down something doesn’t sit right. That is why discernment is so important.
In my own life, I have learned that the enemy does not usually show up when I am strong. He waits until I am tired, lonely, or discouraged. He does not tempt you when you are full; he waits until you are hungry. That is exactly what happened to Jesus in Matthew 4. The devil did not come to Him on the first day in the wilderness. He came on day forty, when Jesus was weary, hungry, and alone.
I am most tempted to give in when I am lonely and frustrated, when it feels like everything is going wrong. The enemy knows your weaknesses, but God wants you to surrender those weaknesses to Him so He can turn them into strengths.
Sometimes the wrong shift shows up at your weakest moment. It whispers, “Take the easy way out.” It says, “If God really loved you, He would not let you go through this.” The enemy manipulates emotions to move you out of alignment with God’s will.
That is why Ephesians 6 tells us to put on the full armor of God, because resistance requires readiness. Jesus did not argue or reason with the devil. He simply responded with, “It is written.” He used the Word as His weapon.
When you face the wrong kind of shift, stand on what God already said. Do not let exhaustion make you compromise your character. Do not mistake the enemy’s bait for God’s blessing. You may feel the waves crash against you, but if you are rooted in truth, you will not be moved.
Reflection Question: What weakness do you need to surrender to God so He can turn it into strength?
Prayer: Lord, give me discernment to recognize the wrong shifts. When I am weak, teach me to surrender instead of giving in. Strengthen me to stand firm in Your Word and trust that You will use even my weaknesses for Your glory. Amen.

About this Plan

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes God tells you to move when you least expect it—or makes you move when you refuse to. It’s uncomfortable, uncertain, and often confusing, but every divine disruption has a purpose. In this seven-day devotional, Minister Jayden Watkins shares how to recognize God’s voice in transition, trust His timing when the path is unclear, and find peace in the shift. Through honest reflection, powerful Scripture, and prayer, you’ll see that God doesn’t move you to break you, but to build you. When He shifts your life, He’s preparing you for greater purpose.
