Day 6 - Surrendering Control

Scripture:
"By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice." Hebrews 11:17 (NIV)

Reflection:
Abraham faced the most challenging test imaginable: laying his miracle child, Isaac, on the altar. God wasn't after Isaac; He was after Abraham's heart. In surrender, Abraham discovered God's provision and faithfulness in a way comfort could never reveal.

Sometimes God asks us to place on the altar the very thing we prayed for: our plans, our dreams, our timelines, even our need to understand. Surrender isn't losing; it's trusting that His love is wiser than our control.

Like roots deepening in a storm, surrender anchors us in trust. It releases the illusion of control and opens our hands to receive what God has already prepared. When Abraham looked up, the ram was waiting, provisions already in place.

Application:
Ask yourself: What "Isaac" am I clinging to that I need to place back into God's hands?
Write it down, and beside it write this promise: "The Lord will provide." (Genesis 22:14)
Pray over it until peace replaces pressure.

Prayer:
Father, I surrender what I've been holding tightly. Teach me to trust You with the things I treasure most. I believe Your provision is waiting beyond my obedience. Anchor my heart in faith and let surrender become my testimony of Your goodness. Amen.
