What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditationsਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 18: Joy in Sharing the Good News
- Verses:
- Luke 15:7: "There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents."
- Acts 8:8: "So there was great joy in that city."
- 2 Corinthians 7:4: "I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds."
- Philippians 2:2: "Then make my joy complete by being like-minded."
- 3 John 1:4: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
- Reflection:
Sharing the gospel ignites joy for both the sharer and the hearer. Luke 15:7 reveals heaven’s rejoicing over one repentant sinner, mirrored in the joy of Acts 8:8. Paul’s boundless joy in 2 Corinthians 7:4 shows how sharing Christ transcends troubles. Philippians 2:2 and 3 John 1:4 highlight the joy of seeing others embrace the truth. Advent calls us to spread the Good News, letting the joy of Christ’s coming overflow into others’ lives, uniting us in His love and purpose.
- Application:
- Reflect on someone who needs to hear the gospel. Today, pray for courage to share Christ’s love with them, perhaps through a conversation or invitation to church.
- Journal about a time when sharing your faith brought joy.
- Take one action, like offering to pray for someone, to spread the good news.
- Share your experience with a friend, encouraging them to proclaim Christ’s truth, fostering the joy that comes from seeing others walk in faith.
- Prayer:
God, give me boldness to share Your good news, and let it bring joy to others. In Jesus' name. Amen.
About this Plan

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
