God Owns It All

If everything already belongs to God, then every time we give we’re simply passing on what He has entrusted to us.

The Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” That means our possessions, skills, opportunities, and even the breath in our lungs are gifts we’ve been given to manage. We aren’t the owners. Instead, we’re caretakers who look after what belongs to someone else.

Jesus told a story about a master who gave his servants money to look after while he was away. Some used it well and multiplied it. One buried it in the ground and nothing happened. The point is that God wants us to use what we’ve been given for good, not to hide it away.

When we think everything is ours, giving can feel like losing. When we see it as God’s, generosity becomes an act of gratitude and trust. It is our way of saying, “I believe You can do more with this than I can.”

Prayer: Father, thank You for entrusting me with what belongs to You. Teach me to manage it wisely and generously, for Your glory. Amen.
