The Ripple Effect of Generosity

Have you ever done something small for someone and later found out it meant the world to them? Maybe you paid for someone’s coffee, sent an encouraging text message, or helped out when they needed an extra pairs of hands. That’s the ripple effect of generosity.

The apostle Paul wrote to a group of believers and told them that their giving would cause others to thank God. This means generosity does more than meet a need. It points people to something, and someone, greater.

Jesus compared it to light. He said to let your light shine so people will see your good deeds and give glory to God. Generosity works the same way. Imagine dropping a stone into a still pond. You see the splash, but the ripples keep moving far beyond where the stone landed. You might never see all the ways your giving spreads, but God does.
