Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us (1 Thessalonians 2:8 NKJV).
Are you willing to lay down your life for others?
Isaiah 53 offers a profound depiction of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. Over 700 years before He laid down His life on the cross, the prophet foretold how Jesus would bear our sins and take our place. The prophet pens, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6 NKJV).
Paul and his companions embodied this spirit of selflessness by fully dedicating themselves to the Thessalonian saints. Are you willing to sacrifice your time, energy, or resources to serve others? Following Christ means laying down our lives, just as He did for us. Who is God calling you to serve today?
Employment Point: Give your life away to others as Jesus did.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
