Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified (2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV).
When was the last time you examined your soul?
The Corinthians were quick to judge Paul but slow to self-examine. Jesus cautioned against hypocrisy in self-examination. Using a bit of humor to make His point in Matthew 7:3 (NKJV): “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” Clearly, Jesus desires all people to perform regular self-examinations.
When did you last reflect honestly on your spiritual health? Just as Solomon and the Shulamite maiden examined each other lovingly, take time today to inspect your own life. Identify areas where you need growth and seek God’s guidance to align your life with His will.
Employment Point: Regularly inspect your life and correct whatever doesn’t please the Lord.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
