And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV).
Why is love more important than spiritual gifts?
While having talents and skills is valuable, without love, they lose their meaning. Paul emphasizes that Spiritual gifts are temporal assets, but “love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8 NKJV) because it is eternal. The Corinthians had many spiritual gifts but were missing the essential element of love.
In your own life, make sure love is at the center of your actions. Are you trusting in your own understanding, or are you leaning on God’s wisdom? Loving others and relying on God’s guidance will give your efforts true significance.
