Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 171 OF 365

Remember me, O my God, for good! (Nehemiah 13:31 NKJV).

How can we courageously share the truth of Jesus with others?

The book of Nehemiah opens and closes with prayer. This illustrates his unwavering commitment to prayer, firing off quick prayers when necessary. Likewise, the apostles, facing persecution, sought divine strength from God through prayer. Luke recounts that after their prayer, the place shook, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, which enabled them to proclaim God's word with boldness (Acts 4:31).

Nehemiah and the apostles showcase the power of prayer. Through prayer, God energizes us, enabling us to boldly share the truth of Jesus. Seek God’s will through prayer, and may you step out in boldness as you tell others about Jesus!

Employment Point: Maintain a consistent prayer life to receive boldness from Jesus.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
