Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

Honor your father and mother…that it may be well with you (Ephesians 6:2–3 NKJV).
Have you chosen to remain in a safe place?
Dinah is the daughter of Leah and Jacob. She left family to go out and see the daughters of the land (Genesis 34:1). That was the time she was abused, which produced a rage in her brothers, and they enacted vengeance. Because she took this excursion away from home, left a safe place to socialize with unbelievers, it brought about grave repercussions.
Spring forward 2,000 years. Jesus is age 12. He had been separated from his parents, each thinking that Jesus was in the other’s company. Where do they find him? They found Jesus in the Temple. When Joseph and Mary approach Jesus, He submits to them, and we’re told that He then increased in wisdom and favor with both God and men (Luke 2:51-52). Blessings abound for being in the right place!
Employment Point: Remain under your God given authorities, for His blessing.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
