God's Plansਨਮੂਨਾ

11. Establish the Work
How: God’s plans depend on who He is
Lectio. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” (Psalm 90:17, NIV – read Ps. 90:12–17).
Meditatio. Book Four of the Psalms begins by showing who God is and then who man is; from this contrast, Psalm 90 arises seven petitions: Teaching, Care, Satisfaction, Joy, Revelation, Accomplishment, and Establishment.
Oratio. Pray to recognize who God is—His eternity and sovereignty: “From everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Also, pray to understand how small and needy you are before Him. Then, plead with humility.
Contemplatio. Imagine a powerful current sweeping you and everything around. Do not be afraid; see that it is God acting as He wills. Allow yourself to be carried by Him.
Confessio. The best moments of my worship have been contemplating “the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted.” To admire God and proclaim His greatness is the worship that strengthens my faith and establishes my work.
