Kingdom Impact

Making an impact for God through our lives is the desire of every son and daughter of God who has caught a glimpse of the goodness of God in their own lives. For most of us, our prayers are filled with petitions for God to move powerfully in the lives of loved ones and colleagues who don't yet know the love of God towards them. We know that these prayers are powerful because God has modelled to us in Jesus His desire that no one would miss out on knowing Him and walking with Him.

Most believers don't have a problem with Jesus declaring that He is the light of the world, however, to imagine and believe that Jesus calls us the light of the world, is a much harder notion to grasp.

We have been called and empowered by God to make a difference directly in the lives of our co-workers, staff, neighbours, customers and strangers. Through the way that we show diligence at work, the way we genuinely care for people, the way that we go the extra mile in all that we are tasked with, the light of God gets to shine through us and the promise of Matthew 5 is that as humanity sees this they will glorify our Father in heaven. That is a promise of salvation, supernatural witness and partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Father,

I thank You that You equip us and anoint us so powerfully in our marketplace callings. I am, as you have said, the light of the world, a city on a hill at home, in my neighbourhood, in my workplaces and businesses. Thank you that you are actively at work in the lives of men and women that you have placed around me. Holy Spirit, make me sensitive to what you are doing in these people's lives, and may the way that I live my life bring testimony of your goodness and bring people into an encounter with you. I love you and thank you for this kingdom calling in and to the marketplace in Jesus' name.
