The Betrayal of Jesus

Have you ever felt the sharp pain of betrayal from someone you welcomed into your trusted inner circle? Consider Jesus, sharing His last supper with His disciples—the very ones He loved and trusted. Then came the shocking truth: Judas, one of them, traded Christ’s life for thirty pieces of silver—the price of a slave’s life under Old Testament law (Exodus 21:32). Think of the immeasurable pain in Jesus’ heart, yet His love compelled Him forward to the cross. While we’ve each betrayed Him in our own ways, He willingly carried all our sin and took the punishment we deserved. How humble, how mighty, how truly amazing is our Lord!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am grieved over the ways I have turned my back on You. Please forgive me for how I have betrayed Your love and resisted Your Lordship. Thank You for Your sacrifice, which paid the price for my redemption. Empower me to live a life worthy of Your name. Amen.

2. Confess it to the Lord and receive His forgiveness washing over you. His blood was shed to make you new.
