Faith Formation Framework Series 4: Faith Catalyzed by Family Intimacy and Intentionalityਨਮੂਨਾ

Strength in Struggles
Focus
Visualization: Picture Jesus sitting with your family in moments of struggle and uncertainty.
Listen
Scripture: Romans 12:12 (NRSV)
"Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer."
Reflection:
No family escapes seasons of pain. Illness, financial strain, conflict, or grief may visit our homes. In these moments, faith is not about pretending everything is fine, but trusting that God meets us in the middle of the storm. When young people see their family members turn to prayer, lean on community, and trust God's presence even in suffering, they learn that faith is not fragile—it endures. Family struggles become sacred classrooms where young people encounter the God who never abandons them.
Apply
How might your family turn to God together in a present or past struggle?
Respond
God of hope, hold our family in every season. Teach us to trust your presence in the hard places and to find strength in you together.

About this Plan

The idea of “family” is different in many cultures. It was even different in the many cultures that made up the Biblical world! It can be broken, whole, or something in between, even in the Bible. However, one thing has remained constant: family is formative for every human being. Through Jesus, we are adopted into the family of faith that God creates. Whatever our families look like, Christians are trying to live as a part of God’s Divine family in many different ways. That’s what we will discuss this week.
