Three Years in 30 Days: Jesus' Life and Missionਨਮੂਨਾ

God's kingdom is like a seed
“What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden.” (Luke 13:18-19 ESV)
After Jesus explained the parable of the sower from Matthew 13:1-9 to His disciples, He told another parable about the kingdom of heaven. This parable can be found in Matthew 13:24-30 and is about a field where weeds grow among the wheat. The plants look alike and grow together. The difference becomes clear when harvest time comes.
Then Jesus told the people another parable. He said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32 ESV)
In tomorrow's devotional, we want to meditate on the meaning of this parable of the mustard seed.
Three different parables are mentioned, all about seeds.
- What do you think are the similarities and differences between them?
