Relationships That Flourish: A 30-Day Devotional on Finding Security in Christ and Growing Healthy Connectionsਨਮੂਨਾ

The Bible teaches us that we are created in the image of God. This means that He created us to reflect His image to those around us, a divine and sacred task. This doesn’t mean we will be perfect, but that God has beautiful purposes for us: To know and love Him. The God of the universe wants you to be a part of His plan to bring beauty, healing, and love to the world around you. He gives you worth because you are created by Him, and He has given your life purpose.
In Ephesians 2, we are called God’s masterpiece. A masterpiece is something highly valued, beautiful, and worthy because of the artist who created it. That is true of you—you are valued, beautiful, and worthy, not because of anything you have done, but because of who you are and who created you!
We often seek to find our worth in the relationships we are in—to have someone tell us that we matter. Even in the best of relationships, people let us down, and we end up disappointed. Relationships are not meant to satisfy us fully: we cannot get from other people what we are created to receive from God. God knows you and loves you in a special way that no one else can. Knowing who God is and who He created us to be can empower us to let go of things that are not healthy for us or honoring to Him, including relationships.
In scripture, the Great Commandment is to love God with all your heart and then to love your neighbor as yourself. This simple statement is not just asked of us, but it’s given for our benefit. Only when we love God can we truly know how to love others as He loves.
Reflect: How would it impact my relationship if I were to grow in my love for God? Is there a connection between loving God and finding our identity in him?
Pray: Lord, help me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Then, may I love those around me as You have equipped me to do.
