When Life Feels Broken: A 5-Day Devotional on Joel

DAY 5 OF 5

Do you ever find yourself worrying about the future? We don’t know what tomorrow will hold, but we can hold on to the promises that God gives us for the future.

Joel ends his book by pointing to a future day when God will judge the nations and bring justice for His people. For those who reject Him, it will be a day of reckoning. But for His people, it will be a day of blessing, safety, and joy. That’s the ultimate hope Joel offers: God will win. Our world feels unfair, chaotic, and often broken, but it won’t always be that way.

One day, Jesus will return to make all things right. He will wipe away every tear and destroy all evil. That promise gives us the courage to live faithfully now. We don’t have to be afraid of the future — we can live with hope because we know how the story ends. Do you find hope in God’s ultimate victory?

Christ Connection

In Revelation 21:1-4, Jesus will return to judge the world and establish His eternal kingdom.

Ask

How can I live today in light of Jesus’ coming kingdom?

Pray

Jesus, thank You that the final word belongs to You, not to evil or brokenness. When life feels confusing or unfair, remind me that You are coming again to make everything right. Give me the courage to live differently because of that hope. Help me to love others well, to stand firm in my faith, and to trust You with my future. Thank You that Your kingdom is unshakable and that I get to be part of it. Fill me with peace and joy as I look forward to the day You return.

Try This

When we are walking through hard times, we have to speak truth into our hearts. Write Revelation 21:4 on a notecard and place it where it can be a reminder of the hope you have. We are victorious through Christ, and we have to fight to remember this truth.
