Have you ever had a day when everything seemed to go wrong? A friendship falls apart, you fail at something you worked so hard for, or your family is struggling — and it just feels like life is falling apart.

That’s what happened to God’s people in Joel’s time. A massive swarm of locusts swept through and destroyed everything. In just a few days, their crops, their food, and their way of life were gone — total devastation.

But God used that disaster to get His people’s attention. Sometimes we face “disasters” too. They may not be locusts, but they leave us feeling broken and hopeless. And yet, God can use those moments to draw us closer to Him.
