Stay Where You’re Sent
Sometimes the hardest place to be is exactly where God put you. It’s not that you’re not called. It’s just that the call comes with inconvenience, pressure, and pruning. I’ve been there. I wanted to quit the assignment because it didn’t feel good. But God didn’t send me based on comfort—He sent me for transformation.
There’s a powerful moment in Scripture when Elijah is told to go hide by the brook Kerith. It wasn’t glamorous. There was no crowd, no revival, no confirmation. Just obedience. And yet, in that hidden place, God provided everything Elijah needed. The ravens fed him. The brook sustained him. But when the brook dried up, God didn’t leave him guessing. He gave new instructions.
Too many believers jump ship before the next directive comes. But when you leave where you were sent before God tells you, you miss the provision that was only meant to meet you in obedience. Your assignment may come with warfare. It may be lonely. It may be hidden. But if God sent you, He will sustain you.
Reflection Questions:
- Have you been tempted to leave an assignment that feels hard but is still God-ordained?
- What provision might you be missing by not staying where He sent you?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to stay planted in the place You’ve sent me, even when it’s uncomfortable. I don’t want to miss what You’re doing just because I’m tired of waiting. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your plan. In Jesus’ name, amen.
