Rooted in the Word: A 5-Day Devotional Journey Based on Colossians 2:6-7ਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 2: The Word is Living
The Bible is not static or outdated. According to Hebrews 4:12 (ESV), it is “living and active,” able to pierce soul and spirit, judge thoughts, and expose intentions. God’s Word isn’t just a record of past events—it’s a present voice that searches us, shapes us, and sanctifies us. This living Word brings conviction, comfort, correction, and clarity.
Jeremiah 23:29 (ESV) adds, “Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” The Word challenges the hardened places in our lives. It may not always feel gentle, but it is always loving. When we allow Scripture to read us—not just us reading it—it becomes a tool for transformation.
Reflection: Have you experienced a time when Scripture exposed something deep within you? How did you respond?
Activation: Choose a passage like Psalm 139 or James 1:22–25. Read it slowly and ask God to show you any place where He is inviting change or healing. If you sense conviction, don’t run—respond. Write a prayer of confession or commitment, asking God to keep His Word alive and active in your life.
