The Single Mom Journeyਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 9: Trusting God
I want to encourage you: don’t give up.
There are many single moms who have lost hope, but you can’t afford to give up. Your children need you, and most of all, God is with you. No matter how difficult the path gets, keep moving forward—you will not regret it.
As a single mom, you’ll face hard times—whether it’s financial struggles, emotional exhaustion, physical limitations, or unexpected setbacks. I’ve walked that road too. I know what it’s like to have empty cupboards, overdue bills, shut-off notices, and no money for gas. But even when I couldn’t see a way forward, God provided—every single time.
God’s Word reminds us:
- “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)
- “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” – Matthew 6:31–32 (NKJV)
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV)
Trusting God isn’t something we do once—it’s a choice we make every day.
When the pressures of life feel overwhelming, look up. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is faithful. He sees your needs, and He will take care of you in His perfect timing.
As we begin this journey, I challenge you: don’t give up. Keep trusting. Keep walking. God will provide.
Day 9: Challenge
“Children whose parents separate are significantly more likely to engage in early sexual activity, abuse drugs, and experience conduct and mood disorders—especially if the separation happened when they were five years old or younger.” 6
That’s a sobering truth. As a single mom, it can feel like the odds are stacked against you—and your children. A simple internet search for “fatherless statistics” will bring up a flood of discouraging data. It’s scary stuff.
But here’s the good news: your family doesn’t have to become another statistic.
Yes, the journey will come with both victories and setbacks, but you are not walking it alone—God is with you every step of the way.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV)
In Daniel 6, we read how Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den for remaining faithful to God. He didn’t waver. He didn’t panic. He simply trusted. And in return, God protected him.
“My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me...” (Daniel 6:22, NKJV)
The world we live in can feel just as threatening as a lion’s den, especially when you’re raising children on your own. But just like Daniel, you can trust God to protect and provide for you and your family. You may not be able to control the circumstances around you, but you can place your confidence in the One who holds all things together.
No matter what comes—good days or hard days—choose to trust God.
He has not forgotten you, and He will carry you through.
Day 9: Action
Write out five areas in your life that you completely trust God and five areas where you struggle trusting Him. Write a letter to God thanking Him for helping you trust Him in certain areas and asking Him to help you trust Him in the areas where you struggle.
