Jesus Is…Lordਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 4 - Jesus is…The Anointed One.
Matthew 16:13-20 (ESV)
Devotional: Christ. This is not Jesus's last name. It is one of his many proper titles. The word Christ means "the anointed one" in the Old Testament. After God came and met with His people, someone would pour oil on the place to anoint it, signifying God's presence there. This is a place where God and man have met. Therefore, when Christ is called the anointed one, it shows that He embodies both God and man. The anointed one, Jesus, came to anoint, but not with oil; instead, He anointed us with His Spirit. Acts 10:38 (ESV) shows that the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers and is part of the anointing God has given His people. God's people live in a state of anointing because, through the Holy Spirit, God has given us His presence. The Holy Spirit equips us with everything we need to walk this life with Him.
Prayer: Jesus, You are the Anointed One! Thank you with all my heart for anointing me with Your Spirit. Fill me with passion and strength to keep walking faithfully with You every day.
