Through the Word: Knowing God, Making Him Known

DAY 4 OF 30

Jesus Restores Us Back to God:

When we turn to the opening of John’s Gospel, we read, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 NIV)

This “Word” refers to Jesus, the eternal Son of God. In Him, the fullness of God was made known. Jesus wasn’t just a teacher or a prophet; He was God Himself, revealing the heart of the Father to the world. Jesus walked among us, experiencing our humanity, offering us the opportunity to be in relationship with the Creator of the universe. This was perfect harmony, as it was always meant to be.

It’s profound to think about how, through Jesus, God chose to restore what was broken. The perfection of Eden was lost, but in Jesus, God’s love and intention for peace are still evident. Through Him, God reached out to us again, inviting us back into fellowship, back into the peace He created us for.

Take a moment to reflect on this: God created this world with a specific purpose in mind. He designed it for peace, for wholeness, and for a relationship with us. The pain, suffering, and chaos we experience now were never part of His plan. Yet, in His great love, He didn’t leave us in our brokenness. He sent His Son, Jesus, to show us the way back to the peace He always intended. This is the heart of God—to be with us, to dwell among us, and to offer us the hope of restoration.
