Invite God’s Power Into Your Life Today
I’ll never forget the moment I truly understood what it meant to pray, “Your kingdom come…” For years, I thought prayer was about getting God to bless my plans. But one morning, while I was asking God to “fix” something in my life, it hit me—I wasn’t really inviting Him to take over. I was inviting Him to co-pilot. Big difference.
Jesus didn’t teach us to pray, “Here’s my kingdom—bless it.” He taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come.” That’s a prayer of surrender. A declaration of allegiance. And honestly? It’s powerful! Because when we submit to God’s Kingdom, we’re inviting His rule, His reign, and His purposes into our lives.
Spiritual warfare, at its core, is a battle of submission—will I follow God’s will or my own? Will I let Jesus be King, or try to be king myself? When we choose God’s Kingdom, we’re choosing His peace over chaos, His joy over despair, and His strength over striving. That’s the kind of life I want to live.
Friend, what part of your life needs to come under God’s rule today? Your schedule? Your relationships? Your future? Don’t be afraid to let go of control.
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer. To discover more faith-building resources like this, I want to personally invite you to sign up for my weekly devotional email today!
