Weapons of Warfareਨਮੂਨਾ

Don’t Come Down From the Wall
When I was a young believer, I thought prayer was mostly about asking God to meet my needs. Yet over time, I learned something deeper—prayer is also about standing in the gap for others. It’s about stepping up, staying alert, and holding the line spiritually for the people I love.
In Scripture, that’s the role of the watchman. In ancient Israel, cities had towers built into their walls where guards would watch for approaching danger. Their job wasn’t glamorous, but it was vital. If they fell asleep, everyone inside the city could be in danger.
God is still calling His people to be watchmen—including you and me. He places us in families, in friend groups, in workplaces, and in churches, not just to blend in…but to stand watch. We watch by knowing His Word. We watch by staying prayerful. And we watch by trusting God to speak and move as we stand in faith.
Perhaps you’ve been watching over a loved one who is far from God. Maybe you’ve been standing for healing, or praying for breakthrough in your workplace or community. Let me encourage you: Don’t give up. Don’t come down from the wall.
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
