Living With Direction
If you're like most people, you probably spend a lot of time thinking about your future. You might think about what school you'll go to, your career, who your friends will be, and how it's all supposed to work out.
It's not surprising. We all want a clear plan. But what if following Jesus means leaving space for him to change our plans? Like what happened to one of Jesus' disciples, Phillip. Check this out:
Philip didn't have a map. He didn't get the full plan. He just listened when the Spirit said, "Go." And as he obeyed one step at a time, God used him to change someone's life.
Philip didn't know exactly why he was being sent to a random desert road. He didn't even get to stick around and see the full impact of what God did through him. He just lived with open hands and a ready heart. That's how you live a Spirit-led life.
If you're wondering how to live this way, pray something like this:
"God, I want to live with open hands and a ready heart. Help me to trust your leading, even when I don't see the full picture. Teach me to keep in step with your Spirit today."
