Peace in Chaos for Families: 3 Days to Resilient Faith

DAY 2 OF 3

Have you ever fallen into bed and realized you barely thought about God all day?

It's not that you don't value your relationship with Him. But between managing kid activities, your job, and handling daily emergencies, your day fills up with urgent needs that crowd out space for God.

The most transformative spiritual practice isn't finding more time for God—it's finding God in more moments.

Mindfulness has become popular for reducing stress, but spiritual mindfulness goes beyond self-awareness. Because God is there with you, you can transform:

  • Morning coffee into a moment of gratitude before the kids wake up
  • Car rides into a sanctuary of prayer
  • Bedtime routines into opportunities for conversation with God

3 PRACTICAL WAYS TO NOTICE GOD'S PRESENCE TODAY

  1. When your child does something sweet: Thank God for this moment and this unique child.
  2. When making decisions: Replace worry with partnership: "Father, what do You think about this situation? Guide my response."
  3. When feeling weary: Take a 2-minute God-break. This could be prayer, but it could also be scrolling through photos on your phone and reminiscing with God about His faithfulness.

BREAK THE WORRY TRAP

Many of us have convinced ourselves that worry makes us better parents. But God offers something better than anxiety.

His invitation: "Be still and know that I am God."

Take a deep breath. Let your thoughts settle. Whatever you're feeling—tension, distraction, weariness—let this remind you: God is with you right now. You don't have to change anything to be in His presence.

Research shows that feeling truly seen creates security and calm in our nervous systems. How much more powerful when you realize the Creator of the universe sees you, treasures you, and is with you in every moment?

YOUR NEXT STEP

Choose three ordinary moments today—brushing teeth, loading the dishwasher, tucking kids into bed—and simply acknowledge: "God, You're here."

Kid Connection: Try This

"Let's play God Spotting today. Every time we see something beautiful or realize we already have something that we need, we’ll remember that God is here and He cares for us. Can you spot God with me?"

Tomorrow, learn how to find solid ground with God when life feels uncertain.
