The Woman with the Issue of Blood: Press Through
I suffered in silence. I didn’t have friends or family I could open up to about the matters of my heart. No one to confide in about how I was truly feeling. I felt dirty and emotionally drained. Pressed on every side by the weight of life. Spiritually empty. Tired, but somehow, still reaching.
In that place of isolation, I had to learn how to encourage myself. And in one of those moments, I stumbled upon the Word. But looking back, I realize, it wasn’t by accident. It was divine.
If you’ve stumbled upon this reading plan, it’s not random. It’s an intentional act of God drawing you in. He’s inviting you to see yourself in the stories you’ll read. To see His power to deliver, to heal, and to restore you, right where you are.
For twelve long years, the woman with the issue of blood lived in quiet suffering. Her condition didn’t just impact her physically, it stripped her of emotional strength, social connection, spiritual confidence, and financial security. Under Levitical law, she was considered unclean (Leviticus 17:14), and according to tradition, her blood made her an outcast. Yet, it is precisely her private pain that positioned her for a public miracle.
She had one thing left: faith. She whispered it repeatedly to herself:
“If I may but touch the hem of His garment, I shall be healed.”
This wasn’t loud, showy faith. It was hidden. Quiet. Persistent. But it moved heaven. Her decision to reach through the crowd—to press past fear, shame, and rejection—activated the supernatural. Jesus didn’t see her at first, but He felt her. Her faith pulled power from Him.
Her mind had to shift before her body could heal. That shift, one of belief, hope, and surrender—is what I believe positioned her for a breakthrough. Like many of us today, she had exhausted all other options. She was tired of being sick and tired. And yet, she did the unthinkable—she pressed through and reached.
I invite you, right where you are—let’s touch the hem of His garment by any means necessary. Whether you are bleeding in your body, your finances, your mind, or your soul, bold, unwavering faith can draw power from heaven.
Jesus stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?” not because He didn’t know, but because He wanted to see the woman who had the courage to believe differently. And in that moment, He called her daughter. She was no longer hidden, no longer bleeding, and no longer forgotten.
Key Reflections:
- You can be bleeding and still believing. Faith doesn't require a perfect condition—only pursuit.
- Healing begins in the mind. Her belief shifted before her body changed. That mindset of faith positioned her for the breakthrough.
- Bold faith may be invisible to others, but it is never invisible to God.
- Your faith is your responsibility. Only you can choose to believe or not.
Spiritual Practices:
- Daily Faith Confession: Speak life over areas where you’ve experienced prolonged suffering. Declare daily: “If I touch Jesus, I will be healed.”
- Press in Prayer: Carve out quiet moments and press beyond emotional or spiritual fatigue. Touch Jesus in the secret place.
- Faith Activation Journal: Document moments when you've chosen to believe in silence. Reflect on the shifts you sense happening in your spirit.
Declaration: I am not defined by my condition—my faith defines me.
I press through every lie, every fear, and every limitation.
I believe differently—my breakthrough begins in my mind.
By faith, I touch Jesus—and I am healed, whole, and restored.
