God doesn’t keep a running tally of our wrongs to hold against us. What a blessing!
Since there is no record, there’s no “maximum amount” of times you can mess up before you’ve blown it. He doesn’t even look to see if we’ve “learnt our lesson” each time before embracing us. No, He forgives freely, every time, because all punishment has already been fully paid for by Jesus’ work on the cross!
Rather than turning away and hiding from God in shame when we sin, let’s recognise how great a gift His free gift of salvation really is that can forgive so many of us, so many times, and never run out!
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you that you are always ready to forgive. May I too have a heart to forgive others in light of all that you’ve done for me. Amen.
