Pathways to Purposeਨਮੂਨਾ

Hannah’s song in 1 Samuel 2 is a powerful declaration of God’s faithfulness. After years of longing for a child, enduring the pain of infertility, and crying out to God, she finally holds her son, Samuel, in her arms. But what stands out is that her hope was never just in having a child—it was in God Himself. She doesn’t just rejoice in her answered prayer; she rejoices in the character of the One who answered it.
This resonates deeply with me. I, too, have known the ache of waiting, the longing for something I couldn’t make happen on my own. I’ve wrestled with the tension of trusting God’s timing while wondering if He was hearing my prayers. But like Hannah, I’ve also seen the beauty of His faithfulness—how He brings hope in unexpected ways. And I’ve learned that the greatest joy isn’t just in the blessing itself, but in knowing the One who gives it.
Whatever you are waiting for today—a breakthrough, a restored relationship, a long-awaited promise—anchor your hope in God, not just in the outcome. Like Hannah, we can trust that He sees us, hears us, and is working in ways we may not fully understand yet. Instead of fixating on what we lack, let’s lift our eyes to the One who holds it all.
A practical step this week is to shift our prayers from only asking for what we need to also praising God for who He is. Start a gratitude list of His faithfulness in your life and let that be the foundation of your hope.
Prayer:
Father, You are my Rock and my Refuge. Just as You were faithful to Hannah, I trust that You are faithful to me. When I am tempted to put my hope in outcomes, remind me that my true hope is in You. Strengthen my heart in the waiting and help me to praise You, not just for what You do, but for who You are. Thank You for always seeing me, hearing me, and loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
