Unexpectedਨਮੂਨਾ

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Luke 1:26–38 again.
- What unexpected news did you see in this passage?
- How did Mary respond?
- What questions do you have about it?
A: Application
What's a change or a God-given direction you're having a tough time embracing right now?
What example do you see in the passage for how you could handle the situation differently?
Unexpected news can be troubling. How can you remind yourself to look to God for comfort in uncertainty?
P: Prayer
Talk to God about how you're feeling about an unexpected change or expectation. What about it is causing you stress or worry? Ask God for comfort to get through it and for the courage to follow through on any directions you're feeling called to follow. Then, thank God for the gift of Jesus, an unexpected gift that helps us in uncertain times.
